Why Every Business Growth Strategy Works (and Why Patience Is the Secret Ingredient)

Dec 01, 2025
I’m not going to lie — this one might give you peace or make you want to throw your laptop across the room.

Lesson 9 in my 10 Lessons from 10 Years of Entrepreneurship series is simple, but it’s one of the hardest truths to accept:

Everything works — it just takes longer than you want it to.

When it comes to business growth, there isn’t one magic strategy that unlocks success. There are hundreds. And the only real difference between the people who see results and the ones who don’t? The ones who stay consistent long enough to see their efforts compound.

Everything Works (Yes, Really)

I got two messages recently from clients that blew me away — one did $80,000 in sales in 48 hours, and another had her first $10,000 day.

Both incredible wins. Both took years to build.

Neither of these women stumbled on a secret formula. They didn’t reinvent their business every month or chase shiny new strategies. They picked a few things that worked for them — and they stuck with them long enough to see results.

The online space loves to tell you that if you just do this one thing, everything will change overnight. But here’s the truth:

If you’re showing up, connecting with your audience, creating offers that solve real problems, and staying visible — it all works. It just doesn’t happen instantly.

Pick a Lane (and Stay There)

This lesson applies whether you’re running a multi-six-figure business or just getting started: stop jumping from one strategy to another.

Strategy-hopping will drain your energy and your confidence faster than anything else.
Instead, pick one to three approaches you can sustain — content creation, networking, referrals, paid ads, whatever feels aligned — and stay there.

Track your results. Look at the data. Double down on what’s working, and let time do its job.

Because when I say “it’s going to take longer than you want it to,” what I really mean is: you can’t rush results that are meant to grow roots.

You’re Probably Not a Unicorn (and That’s Okay)

When I built my first multi-seven-figure nutrition coaching business, it grew fast — like, really fast.

And while that kind of explosive success sounds amazing, I actually think it did me a disservice.

Because most of us aren’t building unicorn businesses. Most of us are building beautifully ordinary ones — businesses that give us freedom, flexibility, and fulfilment.

That kind of growth takes time. Building an audience takes time. Building trust takes time. Building consistency takes time.

And none of that is glamorous — but it’s how you create something that lasts.

Align Your Strategy with Your Capacity

If you’re a mum running a business, you know that not every strategy fits your life.

You have to filter every decision through your capacity — your energy, your season of life, your priorities.

For me, running events feels exciting and aligned. I love connecting with people in person. But I know women who would rather do anything else — and that’s okay too.

You get to decide what works for you. The strategy itself isn’t the secret — your alignment with it is.

The Real Work Is in Staying the Course

Here’s what I’ve learned after coaching hundreds of women: every strategy works, but not every strategy is right for you.

My job as a mentor isn’t to hand you a formula — it’s to help you identify what makes sense for your business, your values, and your capacity. Once you make peace with that, business becomes a lot more fun.

When you stop looking for shortcuts, you start seeing progress.

My Takeaway for You

Everything works. It’s just going to take longer than you want it to.
If you can accept that, you’ll build a business that’s sustainable, grounded, and uniquely yours.

Because the truth is — consistency and patience will take you further than any overnight success story ever could.

Stay the course. It’s working — even if it’s just taking its time.
