Why Joining a Mastermind Was the Best Investment I Ever Made in My Business
Aug 31, 2026
If I look back over the last 10, almost 11 years of entrepreneurship, I can pinpoint a handful of decisions that truly changed the trajectory of my business.
It wasn't a new marketing strategy.
It wasn't chasing the latest social media trend.
And it definitely wasn't trying to consume more information.
It was joining a mastermind.
That's exactly what I unpack in this week's episode of This Mother Means Business—why masterminds have consistently been the biggest catalyst for growth in my business, how they shaped the entrepreneur I am today, and why I decided to create the This Mother Means Business Mastermind.
The Moment Everything Changed
Back in 2021, I joined my first mastermind.
At the time, I had recently closed my gym, was rebuilding my career online, and was trying to figure out who I was as both an entrepreneur and a mom.
To be completely honest, I almost didn't go.
The idea of leaving my young children, getting on a plane by myself, and investing in something that felt so far outside my comfort zone was terrifying. But I knew there was a part of me that needed to say yes.
Looking back now, that decision changed everything.
Not because someone handed me a magical business strategy, but because I found myself surrounded by women who challenged the way I thought, expanded what I believed was possible, and reminded me that I didn't have to build my business alone.
Growth Doesn't Come From More Information
One of the biggest lessons I've learned over the years is that there comes a point where your business doesn't need more information.
It needs better conversations.
For a long time, I was the person who wanted to figure everything out myself. I loved researching, learning, and finding my own answers. That independence served me well in the early years of business, but eventually it became the very thing slowing me down.
Being in rooms with entrepreneurs who were operating at a higher level completely shifted my perspective. Decisions that would have taken me months to make suddenly became conversations that lasted twenty minutes. Ideas became action much faster, and I stopped spending so much time stuck in my own head.
The Real Power of a Mastermind
People often assume the greatest value in a mastermind comes from the mentor leading it.
While that's certainly important, the biggest gift for me has always been the people sitting beside me.
Some of the women I met years ago are still close friends today. They've become referral partners, sounding boards, collaborators, and people I genuinely turn to when I need advice.
The relationships I built inside those rooms have been just as valuable as anything I learned during the sessions themselves.
Why I Created a New Mastermind
Over the past several years, I've led multiple mastermind programs for women in business.
Each one taught me something valuable about what entrepreneurs truly need.
Eventually, I realized I wanted to go deeper.
I wasn't interested in building the biggest community or serving hundreds of clients at once. I wanted to create a space where I could genuinely know the women inside it, understand their businesses, and help them make meaningful progress over time.
That's exactly why I built the This Mother Means Business Mastermind.
It's designed for ambitious entrepreneurial moms who are building real businesses and are ready for more than surface-level advice. Women who want strategy, accountability, meaningful conversations, and a room full of people who genuinely understand the realities of balancing business and motherhood.
Why This Mastermind Is Different
One thing I knew from the beginning was that I didn't want to create another program filled with endless videos or weekly calls simply for the sake of adding value.
Busy moms don't need more content to consume.
They need support that actually moves them forward.
That's why the mastermind combines one-on-one coaching, twice-monthly group sessions, ongoing accountability, peer support, and an in-person retreat day. Every piece was intentionally designed to help members focus on taking action instead of feeling overwhelmed by more information.
If You're Ready for More...
If you've been feeling like you've reached the point where Googling another answer isn't solving the problem...
If you're craving bigger conversations, stronger support, and a community of women who truly understand the journey you're on...
It might be time to stop asking whether you need more information.
Instead, ask yourself whether you're ready to stop figuring it all out alone.
