What Happens When 7 Moms Build a Business Together?
Jun 11, 2026
There’s something really powerful about women building businesses together, especially moms.
Recently on the podcast, I sat down with Jennifer Sennott Cram and Erica Buxton, two of the seven co-founders behind Pour Tous Skin, a skincare brand created specifically for tweens and teens. What started as a conversation during a moms’ wine trip eventually turned into a growing consumer brand built by seven women with completely different backgrounds, skill sets, careers, and experiences.
And honestly? Their story is such a reminder that some of the best businesses are born from real-life problems.
As moms, they were frustrated by what they were seeing in the skincare space for kids.
Products that weren’t age-appropriate. Overly complicated routines. Ingredients that weren’t designed for younger skin. Expensive trends driven by social media and Sephora culture.
So they decided to build something better.
But beyond skincare, this conversation really became about motherhood, friendship, entrepreneurship, and what can happen when women stop competing with each other and start building together instead.
One of the things I loved most about this episode was hearing how intentionally they approached their partnership dynamic. Seven co-founders sounds chaotic on paper, but Jennifer and Erica shared how important it was to establish structure early while also protecting the friendships first.
They talked openly about:
- separating business conversations from personal friendships
- learning as they go in startup life
- balancing motherhood alongside entrepreneurship and corporate leadership
- pivoting when needed
- and embracing the messy, imperfect process of building something new
There was also such an honest conversation about raising kids in today’s beauty culture. As a mom of a daughter myself, I could deeply relate to the feeling of wanting to encourage confidence and self-care without pushing kids too quickly into unrealistic beauty standards.
What I appreciated about Pour Tous Skin is that their focus isn’t about perfection or “fixing” kids. It’s about healthy habits, simple routines, education, and safe products designed specifically for younger skin.
And honestly, hearing seven moms collaborate this way felt refreshing.
We hear so many narratives about competition between women, but this episode felt like proof of what’s possible when women bring their different strengths together and support each other instead.
Entrepreneurship is never straightforward. It’s messy, unpredictable, humbling, exciting, and constantly evolving. But this conversation was such a good reminder that you don’t always have to build alone.
And sometimes, the thing that starts as a casual conversation around a table can turn into something much bigger than you ever expected. ๐
